One System. Three Phases. Built to Take Athletes From the Ground Up.
The Elite Hockey Lab Performance System is a complete off-ice development program for hockey players ages 12 to 20. Every phase builds directly on the last. Every exercise, every progression, and every training block is designed to prepare athletes for the physical demands of the next level of the game.
Why a System and Not Just a Program
Most off-ice training treats each season in isolation. Athletes do a summer program, stop training when the season starts, and come back the following spring starting from scratch. Year after year the same foundational work gets repeated because nothing was built to last.
The Elite Hockey Lab Performance System is structured differently. Each phase has a specific purpose and a defined end point. Phase 1 builds the movement foundation. Phase 2 loads and accelerates that foundation. Phase 3 brings athletes to their physical peak. The system is designed so that an athlete who completes all three phases arrives at the most important games of their season in the best physical condition of their life.
This is how professional athletes train. It is how the athletes Derrek worked with for 13 years at the NHL level were prepared. And it is now available to developing players at every level of the game.

Who This System Is Built For
Ages 12 to 14
Athletes in this range focus on Phase 1. The goal is clean movement, body control, and building the physical habits that compound over years of development. Starting here and doing it correctly is one of the highest-leverage decisions a young athlete can make.
Ages 14 to 16
Athletes in this range are typically ready to move through Phase 1 and into Phase 2 within a single off-season. This is where significant physical development happens when training is structured and progressive.
Ages 16 to 20
Athletes in this range have the physical maturity to work through all three phases in a structured off-season. Phase 3 is specifically designed for athletes preparing for the demands of junior, college, and professional hockey.
Built by a Coach Who Has Seen What the Next Level Requires
Derrek Douglas spent 13 years as Strength and Conditioning Coach with the New York Islanders, working directly with NHL players through full professional seasons. He watched prospects and draft picks arrive at the professional level underdeveloped year after year. Players with genuine elite potential who needed years of foundational work before their bodies could handle what professional training required.
The Elite Hockey Lab Performance System was built to close that gap. To give developing athletes the same structured, progressive training that professional players receive, starting at the age when it can actually make a difference.
Start Where Every Elite Athlete Starts
